Small Group Class Instructor Job Description
Purpose of the Position:
To help adults improve their reading, writing, and speaking skills in a classroom situation.
Qualifications: Ability to speak, read and write English, dependable, prompt, patient, non-judgmental, and able to maintain confidentiality.
Training: Attend the Kenosha Literacy Council’s tutor training. Attend periodic in-services as appropriate.
Location: Kenosha Literacy Council Classroom and other locations as approved by the Program Director.
Time Commitment: Tutors should commit to working in the class two hours per week for a minimum of six months.
Duties:
- Meet regularly and punctually.
- Work cooperatively with the Program Director to determine lesson content and approaches.
- Provide reports as requested by the Program Director.
- Inform the Program Director of any problems.
Reports Required: Class attendance record.
